A patient who
receives Supplemental Security Income or Social Security
Disability Insurance benefits will receive a monthly stipend
to help with their expenses. They also become categorically
eligible for Medicaid, and will begin Medicare coverage
two years after their disability determination date.
Our
Disability Advocates apply patients for these benefits,
and advocate on their behalf through the entire process,
including reconsiderations and administrative hearings.
Tertiary
Disability:
Disability representation for patients who have commercial
insurance or some other payer source, who may be considered
disabled. Examples of referrals for this category include
but are not limited to qualifying patients for SSDI only
or SSI/Medicaid second to any commercial insurer.
